Nearly 25,000 Left Without Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Approximately 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the region, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Destruction
Residents reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units working to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also encountered electricity disruptions after Melbourne saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, mainly for building damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both states.
